Frequently Asked Questions
No. Currently copies of the newsletter are not distributed by email. However, copies are added to the HURA website at HURA.Harvard.edu. We obtain mailing labels for our 1,400 members from Harvard HR’s PeopleSoft database, and at the present time there is no way to block individual members from receiving HURA mail.
Spouses are not eligible to become HURA members unless they are also Harvard retirees. They are welcome to attend HURA events as the guest of their spouse. However, surviving spouses or domestic partners of deceased benefits-eligible Harvard retirees will automatically become HURA members and may renew membership in their own names the following June.
HURA members familiar with the PeopleSoft self-service function can change their
postal mailing address, cell phone, land line, and email addresses themselves. Click on
the PeopleSoft link at https://harvie.harvard.edu/.
Or they can report permanent changes of address to HR Benefits who will accept minor
changes or corrections to addresses by telephone at 617-496-4001 or can provide a
Change of Address form for more extensive changes.
HURA members may also consider contacting HURA’s Membership Secretary at
HURAmembership@gmail.com for help with address changes or to obtain the HR
Benefits Change of Address form.
Do not use these methods for temporary changes during vacations or other absences
away from your permanent address. Altering your address will change what is used for
HURA and Benefits mailings, Harvard pension plans, Harvard health and dental plans,
and TDAs. You are responsible for notifying the Social Security Administration yourself.
