Athletic Facilities

Retirees with valid Harvard ID cards have free access to the Blodgett Pool, the Malkin Athletic Center, and the Hemenway Gymnasium.

Spouses/partners of retirees and family members under age 26 may use the athletic facilities by adding a "plus-family membership" to the free membership of the retiree. The plus-family charge is the same for the families of retirees as for families of current employees (visit the Athletics Dept. website for costs). Plus-family memberships must be purchased in person at the Membership Office. A valid Harvard ID card is required at the time of purchase.

The Membership Office is located at:
Malkin Athletic Center
39 Holyoke Street
Cambridge, Mass.
Hours: Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m.

Retirees have access to the tennis courts (617-495-3454) and the squash courts at the same additional membership costs as active faculty and staff. Call the Membership Office for more information. For a description of add-on fees for all separately priced services, go to recreation.gocrimson.com/sports.

For information about recreational class schedules, call the specific facility where the class is being held—usually the MAC (617-495-2219) or the Hemenway Gym (617-495-2222). Also visit the Harvard Athletics website to find event schedules, articles about athletes, ticket information, and links to more information on sports at www.gocrimson.com. The Ticket Office for events is at the Murr Center, 65 North Harvard Street, Allston; phone 617-495-2211.
