Frequently Asked Questions

Can I receive the newsletter online instead of in print?

No. Currently copies of the newsletter are not distributed by email. However, copies are added to the HURA website at HURA.Harvard.edu. We obtain mailing labels for our 1,400 members from Harvard HR’s PeopleSoft database, and at the present time there is no way to block individual members from receiving HURA mail.

Can my spouse also become a member of HURA?

Spouses are not eligible to become HURA members unless they are also Harvard retirees. They are welcome to attend HURA events as the guest of their spouse. However, surviving spouses or domestic partners of deceased benefits-eligible Harvard retirees will automatically become HURA members and may renew membership in their own names the following June.

How do I become a member of HURA?

Membership is open to all former faculty and staff who are benefits-eligible Harvard retirees. During their first months in retirement, all eligible retirees are automatically signed up for a free, introductory membership. In June each year, the annual fee for renewal is $20.

How do I subscribe to the HURA E-list?

Subscriptions to the HURA E-list are benefits of membership in HURA. When you first register for membership or when you next renew, be sure to include your email address on the form. You will be added. For more information or for early signup, contact the editor at MCH12938@comcast.net, 781-641-2942.
