The Harvard University Retirees Association will host an afternoon of poetry readings by Moira Linehan and Mildred J. Nash, who will share with our community and guests their published poetry.

Moira Linehan is the author of two collections of poetry: Incarnate Grace (2015) and If No Moon (2007). The poems in Incarnate Grace explore her 2009 breast cancer diagnosis and her approach to life since then.

Her debut collection, If No Moon, which chronicles the loss of her husband, was awarded the 2006 Crab Orchard Series in Poetry. In 2008, it was named an Honor Book in Poetry in the 8th annual Massachusetts Book Awards.  Ms. Linehan writes full-time and occasionally leads poetry writing workshops in the Boston area.

Mildred J. Nash is the author of Beyond Their Dreams (1989), A Faithfulness of Birds (2013), and Stars for Starters, A Night Sky Poetry Guide (2014).  As a Harvard graduate student, she was a student of Elizabeth Bishop and assisted her in reorganizing the Lewis Wharf library.  After Ms. Bishop’s death, Ms. Nash wrote and published Elizabeth Bishop’s Library: A Reminiscence.

Please join us for an afternoon of friendship, refreshments, and poetry. This will be wonderful opportunity to meet our poets.

There is no charge for this event and free parking is available at the Broadway Parking garage. Register by November 2nd..
